Hi,
I am making a picturenamingtask in which the sequence or order of each trial matters.
Every trial shows picture with either a congruent or Incongruent word, I am interested in the effect of sequences of these trials.
Every one of the four possible sequences:
1) Congruent trial before Congruent trial
2) Congruent trial before Incongruent trial
3) Incongruent trial before Congruent trial
4) Incongruent trial before Incongruent trial
I have 20 pictures and each of those has a congruent and incongruent word, so I will need 81 trials total (4 conditions per picture + one startupfile)
The Problem:
1) I need the pictures to be selected randomly and I need exactly 20 sequences per condition (every picture needs to be shown 4 times) , I have no idea how to solve this. Can I find something to read about creating random sequences?
2) How can I create a startupfile? I would need a startupfile to give the first trial a congruent or incongruent beginning trial.
any help would be greatly appreciated!
