| Hi all, I'm in need of a little assistance. I run a small psychophysiology lab in which I have E-Prime (on machine #1) talking to BIOPAC hardware (machine #2) via the cable shown on the following link: http://www.biopac.com/mp36-mp35-parallel-port-specifications This allows me to mark events in E-Prime (e.g., stimulus onsets and offsets) in the stream of physiological data, and it works very nicely. My question is - Is the above cable just your garden variety parallel port cable? The reason I ask is that I need to purchase several more cables, and the $95 pricetag seems pretty crazy. If I can purchase the same equipment for much less, I'd like to do that. If it's not a regular parallel port cable, any information regarding where I might purchase this item would be fantastic. Any help would be much appreciated! Ryan

Ryan,
Hmm, I have worked with a lot of cables & pinouts in my days, don't recognize that one. You could, of course, build it yourself for a few dollars in parts, but then your labor cost might exceed the $95 (and it might take longer to build rather than buy). Anyway, I would use a 25-conductor flat cable and an IDC press-on for one connector, so no soldering there. Then I would just have to solder up the 14 wires at the other end, and tuck away the unused wires. You should have your tech shop do this for you. (You do have a tech shop there, don't you? I run the tech shop for my department.)

| I have that cable with me. It's custom made by Biopac. if you order MP100/MP150, it should comes with your order. And it's easy to build one yourself though.
