I recently tried to install E-Run only (subject station option) on my RA's PC laptop. E-Run seems to be successfully installed, given that it is available in the Programs menu, but when I click on it, it won't open. Also, when I try to open my script directly, Windows doesn't recognize the file format. Has anyone else had a problem like this? If so, any advice would be greatly appreciated. A prompt response would also be especially appreciated, since we are supposed to run our first ss on this computer at 8am Tues. morning.
Thanks,
Laura

| FYI, if you're trying to run E-Prime 2.0 you need to have Microsoft .NET-Framework 2.0 installed on the computer -- without it none of the apps will bother to run.

| This might just be the problem, as it's an older laptop. Where can I download a copy of MS .NET Framework 2.0?

First, my standard reminder: If you expect to get the attention of PST's trained staff, then you need to go directly to their Web Support at http://support.pstnet.com/e%2Dprime/support/login.asp where they strive to respond to all requests in 24-48 hours.
That said, here is my $.02:
Keeping track of different types of E-Prime installations is too much thinking for me. I have never done a "subject station" installation, I always do a full install of E-Prime on every workstation, and let the presence or absence of the USB hardware key determine which ones act as "design" installations and which ones act as a "subject station" installations. That way I do not have to worry about the vagaries of different installation types, do not have to uninstall/re-install as machines get reassigned within a lab, and I can instantly run E-Studio on any machine as needed just by plugging in my hardware key.
I do not know if that would help with your laptop installation, but it would remove one confound.

Installing the .NET 2.0 framework solved the problem. We test-ran the experiment, and it works fine on my RA's laptop, so we are ready to go for tomorrow morning. Thanks for the suggestions!

Hi,
I am having the same problem. and the .NET 2.0 framework is not the issue. We have installed Erun only on 14 laptops for data collection, however it will not open at all, and the computer will not recognise Eprime files to open directly..
I have contacted web support, but still waiting on reply...and need to collect data next week!! As I am new to eprime - you might be able to answer a simple question?...
Can I install and register E-prime on all 14 laptops, and then run E-run only to collect data without using the hardware key for each laptop? The problem I am finding is as soon as I register it and try to open the program without the Key, it says it is in violation of licensing agreements.
Any help would be great!!!
Thank you
