|I am having trouble setting up an e-prime run for a treatment study that will allow me to randomize my blocklist, but then keep a sequential order within those specific blocks.
Here is the structure: I have a blocklist and then 6 blocks within that blocklist. Each of these individual blocks contains a presentation of 5 rest periods (sequential) and then 5 pictures (randomized). I have the blocklist set to randomize (so it picks randomly among the blocks, but that i want it to go sequentially through the rest periods and then randomize the pictures.
So, ideally it should: (see visual below)
- pick a random block (train1, spon2, etc.)
-once in this block, it should present the 5 periods of rest and then randomize the 5 pictures
- then it should randomly pick another block
-and do the same thing listed above within that block
-etc. for the 6 different blocks
What is happening is that the program is randomizing so that it presents a picture, and then two rest periods, and then another picture and then 1 rest, and then another picture and then 3 rest, etc. I don't know if that gives you all of the necessary information, but I need assistance ASAP.
