I was attempting to work with PNG images (created in Adobe Photoshop) in E-Prime 2.0RC. I set the alpha transparency for these images, hoping that the images would display properly against the slide background. Unfortunately, the PNG files with transparency displayed as black rectangles on my slide (indicating the bounding box for the image). Do I have to set the PNG background color to match the slide background or is there some way to preserve transparency in E-Prime?

I know this is out of date for the thread poster, but for for folks coming in off of Google such as myself, this question is answered here:

The quick and dry is that native image transparency is not currently supported, but you can cheat by setting SourceColorKey to the RGB value of the background in a flattened image. Official native solutions for gif and png transparency are in the works.
