I just had an e-mail exchange with a researcher, and thought I would share this as a continuing concern...

Thanks for letting me know that worked.

I was ready to launch into my usual complaint about the shortcomings of the EP documentation, but thought I better check my facts first. I searched through the .pdfs of the EP2 Getting Started Guide, User's Guide, and Reference Guide, as well as the online E-Studio Help and E-Basic Help. All of these still refer to the EP1 version of the SoundOut object, with no hint of the new Streaming mode. However, the New Features .pdf *does* mention Streaming mode. FWIW here is the documentation in its entirety:
1.1.5. Improved Audio Support
E-Prime v2.0 supports the presentation of audio files in WAV, MP3, and WMA format. In addition, a Buffer Mode property has been added to SoundOut objects and SlideSoundOut sub-objects. This property can be set to "Buffered" or "Streaming". In "Buffered" mode, the maximum length of a sound file will be the maximum length supported by the hardware buffer of the sound card used by the machine. In "Streaming" mode, the length of the sound file is not limited.
I don't blame you for missing that! I will remind PST that they need to update the documentation.
