Hi!
I'm trying to add an animation (movie display) to a slide in EPrime 2.0 Professional for an experiment I'm designing, but I'm having trouble uploading a file and getting it to play. Are the only compatible formats .mpg and .wmv? Is there a way to make other formats (such as .mp4 or .mov) compatible with the software and, if so, how do I go about adding those? I can't find any information at all about movie displays in the manual I have, so I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me.
Thanks!

Have you tried converting your movies into an E-prime compatible format?
There are many free solutions for this. For example: http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/
I often use this to encode AVI video using the xvid codec.
I hope that helps!

Hi,
I get a similar problem. Whenever it come to the movie display I get this error message:
Run-time Error (Line 580) 11053: An error occurred while attempting to
load the movie
Marker: 223
Error: -2147220877 (0x80040273)
The funny thing about it is that I get the same error message when I try to
run the movie sample. Has anybody encountered similar problem and/or
knows a solution?
I tried AVI and MPEG 1 to 4 and installed every codec, but nothing worked.
Thanks,
Ben

| Because you are getting the error even for the MovieRT sample, then it is likely that the hardware in the machine and/or the driver for the display adapter need updated. The specific error code is directly from DirectX: Description: Either DirectDraw has not been installed or the Video Card capabilities are not suitable. Make sure the display is not in 16 color mode.

Brandon (or anyone!),
I also have a movie format question.
I have ffdshow. All movies I'm trying were converted from .mov format using Super. They have no audio component.
I've tried AVI and mp4 containers, but can only get AVI to work. Like the last user's question, I am getting "An error occurred while attempting to load the movie "
I'd like to use the mp4 container with either mp4 or H264 codec (Any recommendation? I'm avoiding AVI since the movies didn't look as good as the originals and I've read it doesn't work well with the H264 codec.)
These formats should work with eprime 2, right? Do you have a solution?
Thanks,
Chris
